COMMUNITY STANDARDS

This policy is governed by and shall be interpreted in accordance with the Flortyme Foundational Operating Principles.

PURPOSE

Flortyme is committed to fostering a welcoming, respectful, inclusive, and community-focused environment where participants can learn, practice, socialize, collaborate, and enjoy the benefits of dance, movement, and community participation.

These Community Standards establish the expectations for conduct and participation across all Flortyme programs, services, events, activities, memberships, reservations, workshops, partnerships, and community engagements.

RESPECT FOR OTHERS

All participants are expected to conduct themselves respectfully, courteously, and professionally toward:

• Participants

• Members

• Guests

• Instructors

• Event Hosts

• Volunteers

• Staff

• Contractors

• Venue Personnel

• Community Partners

• Members of the Public

Differences of opinion, experience, ability, background, and participation goals should be respected.

INCLUSIVE PARTICIPATION

Flortyme encourages participation from individuals of diverse backgrounds, experience levels, and interests.

Participants are expected to contribute to an environment that is welcoming, supportive, and respectful of others.

HARASSMENT & DISCRIMINATION

Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, bullying, threats, unwanted physical contact, abusive conduct, or other behaviour that negatively affects the safety, comfort, dignity, or participation of others is prohibited.

Flortyme reserves the right to determine whether conduct is inconsistent with these standards.

PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT

Participants are expected to:

• Act honestly and responsibly

• Communicate respectfully

• Follow established procedures

• Respect organizational policies

• Support positive community interactions

• Conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the organization and community

FACILITY & VENUE RESPECT

Participants shall:

• Respect facilities, venues, equipment, furnishings, and property

• Follow venue requirements and posted rules

• Leave spaces in a clean and orderly condition

• Report hazards, concerns, or incidents when appropriate

Participants may be responsible for damage caused through misuse, negligence, or misconduct.

SAFETY & WELL-BEING

Participants are expected to exercise reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others.

Unsafe, reckless, dangerous, disruptive, or irresponsible conduct may result in intervention, removal, or restrictions on participation.

Participants should immediately report significant safety concerns, injuries, incidents, or emergencies to organizers or venue personnel.

ALCOHOL & IMPAIRMENT

Participants must not engage in conduct that is disruptive, unsafe, aggressive, inappropriate, or negatively impacts the experience of others due to alcohol, drugs, or other impairing substances.

Flortyme reserves the right to refuse participation, remove individuals, or restrict access where impairment creates concerns regarding safety, conduct, or community well-being.

COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION

Flortyme values collaboration, encouragement, learning, mentorship, and positive participation.

Participants are encouraged to:

• Support fellow participants

• Welcome newcomers

• Contribute positively to the community

• Demonstrate good sportsmanship and respect

• Encourage learning and personal growth

CONFLICT RESOLUTION

Participants are encouraged to address misunderstandings respectfully and constructively whenever possible.

Where concerns cannot be resolved informally, participants may bring concerns to organizers, event hosts, or designated representatives for review.

ORGANIZATIONAL RIGHTS

Flortyme reserves the right to:

• Refuse admission

• Restrict participation

• Suspend privileges

• Remove participants

• Deny future participation opportunities

where conduct is determined to be inconsistent with organizational policies, community standards, safety requirements, legal obligations, or the Foundational Operating Principles.

NO EXPECTATION OF ENDORSEMENT

Participation in Flortyme programs, events, services, memberships, activities, or community spaces does not imply endorsement, representation, sponsorship, or authorization to speak on behalf of Flortyme.

• Online Communications

• Venue Activities

• Community Partnerships

• Future Services and Activities

INTERPRETATION

Where uncertainty exists regarding the interpretation of these Community Standards, the Flortyme Foundational Operating Principles shall govern.
