VOLUNTEER PARTICIPATION POLICY

This policy is governed by and shall be interpreted in accordance with the Flortyme Foundational Operating Principles.
PURPOSE
Volunteers contribute valuable time, skills, experience, and support to Flortyme programs, services, events, activities, and community initiatives.
This policy establishes expectations, responsibilities, and participation guidelines for individuals volunteering with Flortyme.
VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION
Volunteer participation is voluntary.
Volunteers offer their time and services without expectation of employment, wages, salary, commissions, benefits, ownership interests, or future compensation unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing.
Volunteer participation does not create:
• Employment
• Agency
• Partnership
• Joint venture
• Ownership interest
• Fiduciary relationship
• Contractual entitlement to future opportunities
ROLE OF VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers may assist with:
• Event support
• Participant registration
• Hospitality
• Setup and teardown
• Community outreach
• Promotional activities
• Administrative assistance
• Participant support
• General organizational activities
Volunteer duties may vary based upon experience, availability, event requirements, and organizational needs.
RESPECTFUL PARTICIPATION
Volunteers are expected to:
• Conduct themselves respectfully and professionally
• Support a welcoming environment
• Follow organizational policies
• Respect participants, members, guests, instructors, and venue personnel
• Contribute positively to the Flortyme community
Volunteers remain subject to all applicable Community Standards and participation requirements.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Volunteers may occasionally become aware of organizational information, participant information, operational details, or other non-public information.
Such information should be treated respectfully and not disclosed inappropriately.
Nothing in this policy requires disclosure of information prohibited by law.
ORGANIZATIONAL REPRESENTATION
Volunteers may not represent themselves as authorized spokespersons, agents, officers, directors, employees, or official representatives of Flortyme unless expressly authorized.
Volunteers may accurately describe their volunteer involvement but may not make commitments on behalf of the organization.
USE OF PROPERTY & RESOURCES
Volunteers are expected to use facilities, equipment, materials, technology, and organizational resources responsibly and only for authorized purposes.
Safety concerns, damage, or operational issues should be reported promptly.
COMMUNITY COMMITMENT PRINCIPLE
Volunteers support the delivery of programs, services, events, reservations, Shared Floor Time opportunities, and community participation activities.
Volunteers are expected to uphold and support the Flortyme Community Commitment Principle by helping ensure commitments made to participants are honored and delivered consistently.
SAFETY
Volunteers should:
• Follow safety instructions
• Report hazards
• Exercise reasonable care
• Cooperate during emergencies
• Respect venue requirements
Volunteers should not perform activities beyond their abilities, training, or authorization.
EXPENSES
Unless otherwise approved, volunteers are responsible for their own transportation, meals, accommodation, personal equipment, and incidental expenses.
Reimbursement of approved expenses, if any, shall occur only where expressly authorized.
RECOGNITION
Flortyme values and appreciates the contributions of volunteers.
Recognition programs, appreciation activities, volunteer benefits, or participation opportunities may be offered at the discretion of the organization.
VOLUNTEER RELATIONSHIPS
Volunteer participation may begin, end, be modified, or be discontinued by either the volunteer or Flortyme at any time.
No guarantee of future volunteer opportunities is provided.
ORGANIZATIONAL RIGHTS
Flortyme reserves the right to:
• Approve volunteer participation
• Assign responsibilities
• Modify volunteer roles
• Restrict access
• Suspend volunteer privileges
• End volunteer participation
where necessary to support organizational objectives, participant safety, operational requirements, venue obligations, legal compliance, or community well-being.
INTERPRETATION
Where uncertainty exists regarding the interpretation of this policy, the Flortyme Foundational Operating Principles shall govern.
A commitment made is a commitment honored.
